Biking

Many opportunities exist in Hyde Park and Chicago for anyone interested in biking. Chicago has more than 170 miles of on-street protected, buffered, and shared bike lanes. All CTA buses and University Shuttles have bike racks and bikes are allowed on CTA trains during non-peak hours.

You can register your bike with the UCPD by contacting the Community Relations Unit at 773.702.6008 or ucpd-cru@uchicago.edu. The UCPD will give your bike a numbered identification sticker and keep it on record. If your bike is lost or stolen, an ID number can assist in the recovery of your property.
