Subject: Summer Transportation Options
Date: May 25, 2022
As the summer nears, we are writing to share updates regarding summer transportation options available to all students. UChicago’s Lyft Ride Smart program will remain available 7 days a week throughout the summer. The program’s hours will also remain the same throughout the summer, operating from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. each day. We are continually assessing future options for the program, and details regarding the program’s parameters for the upcoming academic year will be communicated before the start of Autumn Quarter.
In December the University outlined a host of public safety efforts aimed at helping protect our campus and community, while launching new efforts to partner with South Side communities in preventing violence.
The University of Chicago is committed to enhancing safety and security on campus and in the surrounding South Side community. Over the past several months, we have implemented multiple initiatives designed to address issues related to public safety. We have also committed to engaging members of the campus and South Side communities in these efforts.
To comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or Clery Act, the University of Chicago provides resources to inform students, faculty, and staff about safety and security matters that impact our community. The University publishes an Annual Security & Fire Safety Report, which is one of the requirements of the Clery Act. Members of the University community are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the information included in this report. If you are having trouble accessing information on this website or need materials in an alternate format, contact cops@uchicago.edu for assistance.
