The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) has primary responsibility for patrolling the University of Chicago campus and University property, and serves in a supportive role in an extended patrol area where the Chicago Police Department is the primary policing agency. The UCPD compiles a quarterly update on crime statistics on campus and in the extended patrol area, which includes the Kenwood, Hyde Park, and Oakland neighborhoods as well as portions of the Woodlawn community. For crime statistics in these areas, see the UCPD Patrol Area Quarterly Crime Trends Report.
