Security Alert

The below narrative contains information regarding two incidents that were reported to the Department of Safety & Security (DSS) by staff members in Housing & Residence Life. Campus security alerts are notifications sent to the University community as required by the Clery Act.
On Friday, September 24, 2021, mid-morning, an unknown individual approached a student outside of International House, at 1414 E. 59th Street, followed them into the building and touched the student on their buttocks.
A second incident was later reported on September 24 as having occurred around 11:30am involving an unknown person of a similar description. A student reported that while walking into International House off 59th Street, the unknown person tapped them on their head to get their attention, grabbed their buttocks, and made a comment of a sexual nature.
Based on the details provided to DSS regarding the incidents, DSS was able to retrieve video images of the individual entering the International-House Residence Hall. The individual appears to be a black male wearing a dark colored knit hat, black headphones, black Nike face mask, black Adidas jacket with white stripes on each sleeve, black pants, and white and black sneakers.
Additional security personnel have been posted at International House.
