Winter Weather Advisory
FEBRUARY 11, 2025
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the city of Chicago on Wednesday, February 12, predicting total snow accumulation of 2 - 6 inches.
Snow is expected to be heaviest between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., which could affect travel conditions, particularly during the afternoon/evening hours. Plan ahead, build in extra travel time and stay safe!
Note that some UGo Shuttles and RideSmart by Via vehicles may experience delays, depending on road conditions. Please plan according and check PassioGO for any notifications.
Here are some tips from the National Weather Service for winter storms:
- When walking, try to stay dry and cover all exposed body parts.
- When driving, slow down! Even the roads just look wet they could still be slick.
- Make sure your vehicle is completely clear of ice or snow before starting the trip.
- Stay tuned to local news or the Illinois Department of Transportation for updated information on road conditions.
You can contact UCPD at 773.702.8181 or 911 if you are experiencing a cold related emergency.
