Security Alert Update

The below narrative contains an important update regarding the armed robbery that was subject to a Security Alert issued on March 12, 2024:

The Chicago Police Department has located and seized the vehicle that was used during the commission of the on-campus armed robbery reported in yesterday morning's Security Alert. The vehicle used had previously been reported stolen. In addition, at the time of the vehicle's recovery, the CPD also arrested several individuals that they and UCPD believe were likely involved in the on-campus robbery as well as other recent robberies in the Chicagoland area. The individuals arrested are being detained and question in connection with these related incidents. Images and videos from the University's fixed and license plate reader camera network were used in identifying the vehicle and providing information to the Chicago Police Department.
