Parking and Traffic Restrictions on Alumni Weekend

The University of Chicago is holding its annual Alumni Weekend on Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19.

On Saturday, May 18, the University of Chicago will host The Food Truck social. This event will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Main Quad and along University Avenue from 57th Street to 59th Street. In addition to multiple food trucks, a DJ will also be part of the program.

Due to the planned events, University Avenue will also be closed to traffic from 57th Street to 59th Street beginning at 5 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 until 11:59 p.m. The sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians throughout the event.

The closures will affect the North, Central, and South Loop routes for UGo Shuttles and the CTA's 171 bus route on Saturday. Reroutes will be posted on PassioGO! and on Transloc. 

There will also be a NO PARKING/TOW ZONE on both sides of University Avenue from East 57th Street to East 59th Street beginning on 6 p.m., Friday, May 17 to 11:59 p.m., Saturday, May 18.

Access to the University of Chicago's Lexington Parking Lot at 5835 S. University Avenue will be restricted as well.
