Road work on Drexel Avenue

SEPTEMBER 8, 2023  

On Monday, September 11th, the City of Chicago will begin work to re-asphalt South Drexel Avenue between East 58th Street and East 57th Street, near UChicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital Emergency entrance.

Work will begin on East 58th Street starting 7 a.m.; the city did not provide a duration for the work.

The entrance to Comer Children's Emergency Department will still be accessible via the sidewalk; however people may need to make adjustments when dropping off patients or looking for parking.

Entry and exit to the parking lot used by families accessing the Family Birth Center may be temporarily blocked while work is being done and people may need to park in another location.

No parking will be allowed on South Drexel Avenue from East 58th Street to East 57th Street while the street is under construction.

Some UGo Shuttles will have to be rerouted to avoid construction, but no stops will be missed. The new routes can be found on Transloc.
