Crime Notice

Friday, January 6, 2023

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023, – Chicago Police and UCPD officers responded to calls of shots fired on the street off-campus at 5203 S. Kimbark Avenue. Upon arrival officers found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Adult Emergency Room by Chicago Fire Department EMS. The victim told police he was walking toward home when two unknown suspects exited a white sedan and demanded his property. The victim refused and one suspect fired his handgun at the victim striking him in the leg. The suspects reentered the white vehicle and fled the scene. The Chicago Police Department is investigating this crime.
