Joanne Nee Appointed Interim Police Chief
Joanne M. Nee has been appointed the interim Chief of Police for the University of Chicago Police Department, effective immediately. Joanne’s appointment will ensure that the day-to-day operations of the UCPD continue as needed while the search is underway for the department’s next Chief of Police.
Joanne joined the UCPD in 2013 and has been serving as the Deputy Chief of Field Services, which oversees the department’s Patrol and Investigative units. Prior to joining the UCPD, Joanne worked for 25 years with the University of Illinois at Chicago Police Department, where she rose through their ranks while gaining valuable experience in the areas of public safety operations and community relations.
